Publico started with a frustration we kept hearing from small nonprofits: the grant work that funds the mission gets done in a tangle of spreadsheets, shared docs, sticky-note deadlines, and one overworked person who holds it all in their head.

We thought the smallest, most under-resourced organizations deserved the same kind of operating system the big shops build for themselves — one place to find funders, write proposals, manage budgets, and stay on top of every reporting deadline. And we thought the AI in it should help without ever inventing a number: every figure traceable, the jargon explained, the math you can check.

That’s what we’re building — a calmer, clearer home for nonprofit grants operations, made warmly for the folks doing the work.
